To further its mission, the PAD created the Sun Defense Essay Contest as a way to engage elementary school students about the dangers of overexposure to the sun. 2020 winner Whitfield Elementary is working with the Whitfield Home and School Association to create a lasting structure on the grounds of the elementary school.
